  • Arrive Delhi

    Welcome to India! The land of 33 million gods and demi gods, land of diversity in Landscapes, culture, beliefs and people! Begin here your journey to the top of the world, The Land of Lamas still renowned as Mystical Ladakh!

    Arrive Delhi - the capital of India – one of India's fastest growing cities spread far beyond the "seven cities" created between the 13th and the 17th centuries. The city consists of two parts - Old & New Delhi. Old Delhi was the capital of Muslim India between 17th and 19th century and has many mosques, monuments and forts. New Delhi, the imperial city was created by the British as the capital of India. On arrival assisted transfer to your hotel.

    Begin your exploration in New Delhi visiting India Gate (drive past) war memorial dedicated to the martyrs of World War I, The President's Palace - former Viceroy's Palace, Parliament House and the Secretariat buildings - an interesting blend of the Victorian and 20th century architecture.

  • Delhi – Leh by Morning Flight Altitude (11,562 ft.)

    Arrive in Leh and check in at the hotel.
    Leh (11,562 ft.) – Once the capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh. Leh served as an important stopover on trade routes along the Indus Valley between Tibet to the east, Kashmir to the west and also between India and China for centuries.

    Day to acclimatize to the sheer altitude.
    In the evening, guided walk up to Shanti Stupa and explore beautiful Leh market.

  • Leh – Uleytokpo by surface approx. (70 Kms / 4 Hrs) Altitude (10,050 ft.)

    This day after breakfast visit Hall of Fame near Leh, a glorious museum constructed by Indian army. Thereafter Visit to Spituk Gompa of Ladakh which dates back to the 11th century. It owes its inception to Od-de, the elder brother of Lha Lama Changchub Od. Od-de led to the establishment of a monastic community at this place.

    Drive to Uleytokpo; Enroute visit the village of Nimo to admire the mesmerizing and picturesque Zanskar river valley.

    Continue drive to Uleytokpo & Lunch at Camp.
    Rest of the day at leisure.

  • Uleytokpo – Lamayuru – Alchi – Likir - Leh by surface approx. (70 Kms / 6 Hrs) Altitude (11,562 ft.)

    After breakfast drive to Lamayuru visiting Moon Landscapes and lamayuru monastery.

    Lamayuru - Renowned as Tharpa Ling which means the ‘place of freedom’; Lamayuru monastery is one of the oldest and one of the largest monasteries in Ladakh region. The monastery belongs to Red-Hat Sect of Buddhism. At its peak, the monastery housed 400 monks but nowadays there are only 50 inmates. The monastery is famous for its rich wall paintings, collection of thangkas, murals, scriptures and statues of different forms of Buddha and other deities. There are several legends about the monastery. According to one, it was founded by Mahasiddhacharya Naropa in 11th century who came to the place for meditation. However, the foundation of the monastery was predicted in the Bodhisattva Madhyantaka.

    Return for lunch at Uleytopko and proceed to Sightseeing of 1000 year old Alchi monastery the only Gompa in Ladakh region on flat ground.

    Alchi - Renowned as one of the oldest Buddhist learning centre in Ladakh, A national heritage, it is distinct from other monasteries in Ladakh as it is situated on flat ground unlike others which are located on hilltops. The foundation of the monastery was laid by Tibetan translator Rinchen Zangpo in the middle of 12th century. It has three main structures known as Du-khang, Sum-tsek and the temple of Manjushri.

    Later proceed to the Likir Monastery to visit the splendid three storeys Dharma Wheel Gompa. Here you'll be awestruck with the sight of the massive Buddha statues.
    Likir - Likir belongs to Ge-Lung-Pa sect; the monastery also maintains and runs a school for young Lamas.

  • Leh - Khardungla (18,390 ft.) - Nubra Valley by surface approx. (125 kms / 6 Hrs) Altitude (10,000 ft.)

    After an early breakfast we drive to Nubra Valley leads through Khardung-La (Pass)- the highest motorable road in the world at 18,390 ft., around 42 Kms from Leh.

    Nubra Valley - popularly known as Ldorma or the valley of flowers. It is situated to the North of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Explore the stark terrain and trek out to one or two gompas. The valley’s mountain backbone looks east to the Nubra River and west to the Shyok River, which meet amid silver-grey sand dunes and boulder fields.

    Late afternoon visit to Hunder Monastery, Hunder is one of the remote villages in the Ladakh district of India's northernmost state of Jammu and Kashmir. Lying close to the border between India and Pakistan in the north-western part of Ladakh, the village of Hunder comprises settlers that include Ladakhis and Tibetans.

    Evening enjoy a Bacterian camel ride over the cold desert of Nubra valley.

  • Nubra Valley – Leh by surface approx. (125 Kms / 6 Hrs) Altitude (11,562 ft.)

    After your breakfast at the camp, visit to Diskit Monastery en route to Leh. The Diskit Gompa of Leh Ladakh dates back to the 14th century and owes its inception to Changzem Tserab Zangpo, a disciple of Tsong-kha-pa. At the heart of Diskit Monastery is an elevated cupola, which stands adorned with a beautiful fresco that illustrates the Tashilhunpo Gompa of Tibet. There are a number of shrines inside the monastery's complex, like Kangyu-lang, Tsangyu-lang, etc. Also, hundreds of Mongolian and Tibetan texts have found their storehouse inside these temples. Diskit Gompa has quite an interesting legend attached to it. It is believed that a Mongol demon once lived here and was considered to be a sworn enemy of Buddhism.

    Afternoon rest and relax or take a walk to the local market.

  • Leh – Shey – Thiksey – Changla (Pass) - Pangong Lake by surface approx. (185 Kms / 7 Hrs) Altitude (13950 ft.)

    After an early breakfast we leave for Pangong Lake Enroute visiting Shey Palace, The ancient capital of Ladakh & Thiksey an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village.

    A drive to this lake will result in one of the most delightful experiences. Our journey begins at Thiksey village, which is famous for its huge monasteries covering an entire mountain range. Beyond this village there is nothing but the vast expanse of extreme mountain ranges. An interesting observation of the topography throughout this journey is that they throw off all calculations of distance somewhat like a mirage-effect, what looked to be a ten-minutes crossing easily requires an hour or more!

    Carry on further towards Pangong through Changla pass which is 5380 Mtrs. Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometer at its widest point and over 130km long, it is bisected by the international border between India and China. A few years back the government decided to open it to tourists though the lake and its surrounding is under army surveillance.

    Enjoy the landscape in the back drop of the Lake.

    Lunch in camp at Pangong.

    One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. The lake also serves as an important breeding ground for a variety of birds including a number of migratory birds. During summer, the Bar-headed goose and Brahmini ducks are commonly spotted around this region. Evening at leisure.

  • Pangong lake – Hemis - Leh approx. (185 Kms / 7 Hrs) Altitude (11,562 ft.)

    Morning at leisure to explore the beauty of lake and drive back to Leh en-route visiting Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism.
    Drive further to Leh and check in at our hotel.
