This tour offers a taste of the world of India's glittering princely rulers, you will visit Delhi, Shah Jahan's 17th Century Old Delhi, with its teeming bazaars, battlemented Red Fort and the country's largest mosque, and New Delhi, whose elegant 1930s avenues and buildings reveal the enduring influence of the British Raj. To the West, lies Shekhawati the setting of the renowned Open air frescos.

Further westwards is the fierce magnificence of Bikaner, Jodhpur & Jaipur - the princely state capital, which was painted pink (the traditional colour of welcome) in honour of the visit of Prince Albert, consort to Queen Victoria in 1883.

Detailed tour Itinerary

  • Arrive Delhi. Upon Arrival you will be received and taken to hotel.

    Later proceed for full day sightseeing of Old and New Delhi visiting;
    Begin your exploration in Old Delhi visiting the Jama Mosque, the royal mosque built by the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan in 1656. It is one of the largest in the world - the main prayer hall can accommodate 20,000 people.

    Drive past Red fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Built in red sand stone by Shah Jahan in 1648, this magnificent monument is laid out along River Yamuna as an irregular octagon. Also visit Rajghat, the site of Mahatma Gandhi's final journey.

    Proceed to India Gate (drive past) war memorial dedicated to the martyr’s of World War I, The President's Palace - former Viceroy's Palace, Parliament House and the Secretariat buildings - an interesting blend of the Victorian and 20th century architecture.

    Post lunch enjoy next visit Qutab Minar, a soaring tower of victory, 72.5m high with five distinct stories. This minaret is built on the foundation of a Hindu temple; many elements of the construction reflect their Hindu and Jain origins. Within the complex, are myriad monuments that combine both Islamic calligraphy and Hindu motifs.

    This morning, after breakfast, Drive to Bikaner, on arrival check in at Hotel. Afternoon visit to Lalgarh Palace, Junagarh fort ( 1593 AD ), Suraj Pol or sun gate, Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum, Gardens and parks, Bhandsar Jain temple and Camel research farm.

    Morning drive to Jodhpur - founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, a chief of Rajput clan known as the Rathores, Jodhpur was the capital of the Rathore Kingdom. Until recent times, Jodhpur was known as the ancient kingdom of Marwar, the largest kingdom in Rajputana. Standing at the edge of the Thar Desert, Jodhpur is the largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur. The city is dominated by a massive fort that sits atop a sheer rocky ridge right in the middle of the town.

    The Mehrangarh Fort, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 when he shifted his capital here from nearby Mandore. There are Palaces, housed within this daunting structure, among them are Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal.

    Jaswant Thada, constructed out of thin sheets of marble which allow the sun to filter in, was built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, in 1899.

    Also visit Umaid bhawan palace museum.

  • Jodhpur – Raipur (Lakshman Sagar) by surface approx. (140 Kms / 3 Hrs)

    This Morning drive to Raipur, upon arrival check in at Lakshman Sagar

    Lakshman Sagar - Sprawling over 32 acres at the fringe of the Badlands of India, Lakshman Sagar was built in the late 19th century as a hunting lodge by the then Thakur of Raipur, Lakshman Singh Ji to host other noble families and British emissaries.     Late Afternoon, proceed for a walk through the fields and visit local village. Drive past a henna (indigenous herb) plantation, marvel over thousands of bricks being made by hand, witness huge piles of red chillies drying, and walk through Raipur town to the old Raipur Fort.

  • Raipur – Jaipur via Pushkar by surface approx. (160 Kms / 5 Hrs)

    After Breakfast, check out & drive to Jaipur enroute visiting Pushkar – on the edge of the desert lies the tiny tranquil town of Pushkar along the bank of the picturesque Pushkar Lake - an important pilgrimage spot for the Hindus. The Lake has a mythological significance associated with it. According to myth, Lord Brahma was on his way to search for a suitable place to perform a "Yagna" (a fire sacrifice). While contemplating, a lotus fell from his hand on the earth and water sprouted from three places. One of them was Pushkar where Lord Brahma.

    Performed his yagna. Every year thousands of the devotees throng the lake around the full moon day of Kartik Purnima in October - November. The Pushkar Camel Fair takes place very October/November in the Hindu lunar month of Kartika.

    Later continue drive to Jaipur - Jaipur - Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh - II, the ruler of Amber, Jaipur was the first planned city in India. This town is also referred as Pink city for the color of buildings in its wonderful old city. The city was painted pink to honor the visit of Prince Albert of England in 1882.

  • Raipur – Jaipur

    Morning drive to Amber and its glorious hilltop fortress. You will ascend the fort on Elephant back. It is known for its unique artistic style, blending both Hindu and Muslim (Mughal) elements, and its ornate and breathtaking architectural mastery. Tour the chambers and hallways of the palace, famous for the excellence of its design and decoration. Within the complex is Ganesh Pol, an imposing gateway painted with the images of the elephant-headed god, Ganesh. Pierced screen windows offer views from different vantage points, and shimmering mirrors encrust the walls of Sheesh Mahal.

    Enjoy shopping experience along with carpet weaving / Gems cutting demonstration. Later proceed to Pink city of Jaipur. Stop for a photo at the Hawa Mahal or the Palace of the Winds." This beautiful façade is probably the most-photographed in Jaipur, with its ornately carved windows designed so the ladies of the palace could look out onto the streets unobserved. Visit the City Palace Museum, which has a priceless collection of antiques, costumes and armory of the Mughals and Rajputs including swords of different shapes and sizes with chiseled handles. It also has an art gallery which displays a collection of miniature paintings, carpets, royal paraphernalia and rare astronomical works in Arabic, Persian, Latin and Sanskrit.

    There after visit Jantar Mantar Observatory, a stone astrological and astronomical Observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 18th century.
